Volunteer Opportunities – Join the Team Behind The Sarah Jane Centre

Please note: These are unpaid volunteer positions, with opportunities to transition into paid roles once The Sarah Jane Centre is up and running.

We're three down-to-earth women on a mission — no egos, no nonsense, just a drive to make real change. If you're a girl's girl (or guy!) who wants to support women rather than compete with them, we’d love to hear from you.

We are currently recruiting for the following volunteer roles:

Platforms: TikTok, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), LinkedIn & X (Twitter)
We’re looking for at least 3 creative people who aren’t afraid to show their face, record voiceovers, or put together content with confidence. Experience isn’t essential, but you must be competent in at least two platforms and able to create photo slides, reels, and short-form videos.

If you love writing, we need you! You’ll help with:

• Social media captions
• Website content & updates
• Marketing materials
• Training manuals
• Research and reports
   

We’re looking for 3 talented writers who can help keep our messaging sharp, heartfelt, and engaging.

We need creative minds to design flyers, posters, and visual content for both print and digital. You’ll also assist with website design and ongoing upkeep. Strong design skills and attention to detail are a must!

Do you have experience running or working in a domestic violence shelter? We want to hear from you. This will become a paid position once the Sarah Jane Centre opens, but we’d love you to be involved in the planning and setup stages. We’re only hiring the best — if that’s you, get in touch!

We’re in need of someone to provide legal support, particularly around business, charity, or employment contracts. If you can spare a few hours to look over documents and offer advice, we’d be incredibly grateful.

Between bills, donations, and day-to-day costs, we’re looking for an accountant willing to donate their time and services until the shelter officially opens. If you’re passionate about what we do and want to lend a hand, we’d love your support.

Help us organise local and national fundraising events.
We need people to:

• Reach out to companies and celebrities via email and social media
• Help run fundraising campaigns and events
• Handle the cold contacts – we’ve got no money and no shame!
   

• These are unpaid roles for now, but there’s potential to move into paid employment when we’re fully operational.
• Unfortunately, we don’t have the time to train volunteers — you’ll need to already have the relevant skills and experience.
• Due to the volume of applications, we won’t be able to reply to everyone.
