Providing safe, Trauma-inf
Rather than operating as a traditional charity, Finally Free was intentionally set up as a Community Interest Company (CIC)
This structure allows us to stay entirely independent, transparent, and focused on real outcomes- not box-ticking or externally imposed administrative agendas.
Too often, restrictive funding models dictate how women are "allowed" to be helped, which rarely reflects what survivors actually need in the real world. A CIC offers us the flexibility, accountability, and integrity to run our spaces without compromising our core values.
Because of the profound lessons learned in navigating these systems, Finally Free CIC is intentionally structured to remain entirely self-funding. While many traditional funding streams require a third director to unlock corporate grants, we have made a deliberate, conscious decision to maintain our focused, two-director leadership model.
This is not an oversight-it is a strategic choice rooted in safeguarding our long-term work, protecting our vision, and ensuring our focus remains entirely on the women and families we serve, completely free from external corporate control or conflicting motives.
Instead, Finally Free CIC thrives as an independent legal framework funded directly through Dope Soul Village marketplace revenue, grassroots fundraising events, and carefully aligned collaborations .
This ensures our organisation remains genuinely community-rooted, values-led, and entirely focused on what matters: autonomy, dignity, and real-world safety.
